Joan Marie Suit

On December 13, 2023, Joan Marie Suit passed away peacefully. She began this life on March 10, 1954, born to the late Lloyd and Violet Suit. She grew up in Upper Marlboro (Ritchie), Maryland and was the only sister to brothers, Bob, and the late John. After graduating from Chopticon High School, she furthered her education at University of Maryland and at a MedTech school in Washington, DC. With the conclusion of her studies, she was able to pursue a career as a Lab Technician. She worked for Duke University until her retirement in 2004. She left her job there and moved home to care for her mother on the family farm.  Her unique sense of caring will be remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Joan will be missed, but especially by her brother, Bob Suit and his wife, Sue of Denver, PA ; sister in law, Jan Suit of Rockville, MD; nephew, John Suit, Jr. and his wife, Melissa of Rockville, MD; niece, Jennifer Suit and her husband, Clarence Dang of Los Angeles, CA; great nephews, John III and James; and many close cousins and dear friends. Because of the wonderful way Montgomery Hospice took care of Joan at the end of her life, her family is requesting donations be directed to Montgomery Hospice, 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100, Rockville, MD 20850 in lieu of floral arrangements.

The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 10:00 am – 12 :00 pm where a Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Epiphany Cemetery, 3111 Ritchie Road, Forestville, MD 20747.
