The family of John Dennis Baione is sad to announce he passed away surrounded by loved ones on May 24th, 2023, at 65 years old. John was born on June 21st, 1957, to Anthony and Juanita Baione, and grew up in Morningside, Maryland. John worked for the DC Metropolitan Police Department for four years before joining the Prince George’s County Police Department where he retired as a Sergeant after 21 years of service. He then went on to serve for 15 years as a Fire Investigator at the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department.
John was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was a wonderful son and a loving brother. The whole family could always rely on big John for words of wisdom, advice, and the most up-to-date Consumer Reports rankings. Throughout his life and his work, John made an impression on everyone who knew him. All remember his wry humor, endless warmth, and loving spirit. We will miss him dearly.
John bravely battled pancreatic cancer for the past year and a half. He never gave up and he fought hard to stay with us as long as he could. He is survived by his devoted wife Kim, children John, Melissa, Alexis, Justin, and Mason, sons-in-law Matthew and Matthieu, daughters-in-law Lauren and Katherine, eight grandchildren, sisters Edye, Patty, Mary, and Tara, brother Michael, and his many nieces and nephews. John joins his parents Anthony and Juanita, brother and sister Anthony and Deborah, nephew Stephen, and the many friends, family, and pets he cared for in his lifetime.
The family will receive friends at Life Church Calvert, 35 Cox Road, Huntingtown, MD 20639 on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3270 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD 20676.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in John’s name to one of the charities he supported, either to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation https://t2t.org/donate/ or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate
