John Anthony DeMino Sr

February 9, 1935 — November 11, 2025

John Anthony DeMino, Sr, (Pop), 90, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025. Born in Washington, DC to parents Dr. Joseph and Josephine DeMino.

Raised in Washington DC on Sheridan Street he attended Calvin Coolidge High School. After High School, John joined the United States Army and served in the 101st Airborne Division Fort Jackson, S.C., Company B, 506th Airborne Infantry Regt.

Upon honorably serving his country, he met and married the love of his life, the late Uliana A. DeMino, (DiLodovico). They resided in Adelphi, Maryland where they had 5 children. John Anthony DeMino, Jr. Wife, Frannie, Daughter Maria Regina Fornataro, Husband Frank, Daughter, Angela Rose Greene, Husband JR, Son Anthony Joseph DeMino, Sr., Wife, Shari, Son, Vincent Michael, Wife Julia. John leaves behind 12 grandchildren; Tommy, Nicole, JR, Michael, Christopher, Sarah, Nicos, Anthony Jr., Cassandra, Nicholas, Christiana, Toni and 6 great grandchildren; Tessa, Mia, Tallie, Frankie, Alessandra and Milania.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Joseph and Josephine DeMino His son’s John Anthony DeMino, Jr., and Vincent Michael and his four siblings: Leonard, Josephine, Florence and Jimmy.

John enjoyed watching horse racing, a pastime he delighted in as a child with his mother. She would take him to Charlestown Horse Racing in West Virginia to bet on the horses when it was in its heyday in the 1940’s. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan (Commanders) which he enjoyed watching with his sons and family. Starting off with home deliveries, John retired from Embassy dairy after 30 years of delivering milk to schools across the DMV area.

John and Uliana will both be interred at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery with an Honors Service on Thursday January 8th, 2026 at 11:15am. In lieu of flowers and in honor of all veterans across the United States, please consider donating to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, and/or Wounded Warrior Project.
