John William Sloan

Jack Sloan, age 78, of North Beach, Maryland passed away August 24, 2024 peacefully at home. Jack was born to John and Elvina Sloan in Minnesota, where he was raised and attended school, graduating from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Jack later moved to the east coast to fulfill his desire to live by the ocean. 

Jack spent nearly his entire career in public service, retiring from the Prince George’s County government after 30 years of service. Jack always enjoyed working with his hands and was a talented wood worker, craftsman, and lego builder. Jack had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. He cherished his family and friends and was his happiest with great company, a delicious meal, and a good glass of wine.

Jack is survived by his fiancée Denise and her son Evan; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Sirel, Katie and Brian; one sister and niece, Karen and Shelby; and four grandchildren, Zane, Nadia, Natalie and Mika.

A celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks. Rest well Jack. We will carry your memory in our hearts.
