Suddenly on June 10, 2023, of Rose Haven, MD and formally of Upper Marlboro, MD Jeff left us. He was the beloved son of the late George and Norma Wyvill of Upper Marlboro.
Grandson of the late George A. and Beatrice Wyvill and Vincent and Mamie Ryon. He was a loving brother to Debbie (Gary) Curry and Pamela (Chris) Helminiak. He was the loving Uncle to Patrick (Amber) Curry, the late Christopher Curry, Ryon Helminiak and Lauren (Bradley) Fowler. He was the great uncle to Mylie Curry, Ryder Curry, and Colt Fowler (coming soon). Jeff is also survived by numerous loving relatives and friends.
He attended St. Mary’s School in his early years, later Charlotte Hall Military Academy and Frederick Douglass High School.
As many knew Jeff devoted most of his life to serving the community in the fire service. He had a professional career as a firefighter in the District of Columbia Fire Department for many years with his last assignment at the fire boat. He has been a volunteer fireman with the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department since the age of 18. He was a lifetime member holding the office of president in 2023. The love of firefighting and serving the community has been one of the great joys of his life.
He was also involved in running numerous businesses throughout his life. Wyvill’s Tavern, Ledo Pizza Upper Marlboro, Flynn Executive Limousine and running a catering service for several years. He had a great time playing different sports over the years like softball, golf, volleyball, and football. He was a huge Washington Redskins fan, attending many games throughout the years as a season ticket holder for many.
The real thing he enjoyed in recent years was his time spent on the bay fishing and cruising with friends on his boat “Blue Bye U”. He will be remembered as a great friend brother, uncle, son, and nephew.
