After a wonderful journey of 82 years, Joe passed away peacefully at home with his wife Kathie of 41 years by his side. Joe celebrated life every day, often coloring outside the lines. He was a good man who had many lifelong friends and left treasured memories along the way.
Surviving him is his daughter Tabatha Yost Jarkin, son-in-law Alejandro Jarkin and grandson Jack Jarkin, his sisters Winnie Fanelli and Susan Johnson and her husband Eric Johnson. In addition are many extended family and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the GW University Hospital’s Cardiology and Cancer Centers as well as the Hospice of the Chesapeake for the excellent, compassionate care Joe received during his illness.
