June Ann Moore-McComas

June Moore (Mitchler) McComas passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 9. She was 87 years old.

June was born in Washington, D.C. and was the first of three children. After initially being hired as a six-week temporary receptionist, June used the opportunity to create an almost 30 year lifelong career at the Maryland Federal Savings and Loan Bank (now BB&T), where she rose to the rank of Vice President.

June resided at Asbury Solomons where she enjoyed tending to her award-winning garden, bird watching, collecting angels, going to the beach, and traveling around the world. June was also passionate about raising funds for the annual Calvert Memorial Hospital Ball.

June was preceded in death by her parents Albert and June Emma Mitchler; husband Harry "Sonny" McComas III; Robert Moore; former husband Sidney Abrams; her brother Albert Mitchler; her sister Joyce Luce; and her stepson Harry "Skip" McComas IV.

June is survived by her children, Sandra Abrams; John "Jay" Moore; Robyn (Moore) Stozek (Mike); Danisha "Nickie" (Moore) Zancan (Raymond) and by her stepchildren, Karen Moore; Sandra (McComas) Sullivan (Matt); Timothy McComas (Patricia); and Daniel McComas (Erin). June was the proud grandmother of Joshua Zancan (Rebecca); and her cherished great-grandmother of Liam; Jackson; Vincent, [and niece Gretchen]. June is also survived by her best friends of 72 years, who are fondly known to June's children as Uncle Jim and Aunt Betty Rushe.

Family will receive friends at the service at St. James' Episcopal Parish, 5757 Solomons Island Road, Lothian, MD, 20711 on November 20th at 1:00 pm with interment services immediately following, with a reception at the church.
