Kim Colotta Bowling was born on November 28, 1959, in Fayetteville, North
Carolina to the late Elma Ray Cheeks and Joseph Drewery. Kim departed her life
on April 29, 2023.
Kim’s early childhood education began in North Carolina, and was completed in
Washington, DC, where she graduated from Cardoza High School in 1976.
Kim worked for the District Government for several years. She also worked as an
office manager and human resource administrator at Hudson Institute in
Washington, D.C. for 24 years.
On September 5, 1987, Kim married David Bowling. Although they didn't have
any children from this union, she was blessed with two step-children.
Kim was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness and was baptized on May 23, 1987, at
Assembly Hall of Jehovah in Crownsville, Maryland. Kim enjoyed being with her
spiritual family at assemblies, meetings and in the ministry teaching people about
the Bible. Although she was ill, her faith and service for Jehovah never wavered.
Everyone who knew Kim knows she loved to dress up. She was very stylish and
classy. She was loved by many, and always had a smile on her face. She guided
youth with words of encouragement. Kim loved to laugh and her sense of humor
will always be remembered.
Kim leaves to cherish her memory: Her husband David Bowling; three sisters:
Gloria (Koot) Hart, Irell Thompson and Jayne (Libby) Adam; four brothers: Vance
Kent, Joey and Brett Drewery; father-in-law Charlie Bowling; two step-children
David Bowling, Jr. and Dawntay Satterwhite; and a host of other family and
friends.
