It is with great sadness that we share that Kristofer Darrow – beloved husband, father of three, son, brother, airman, and friend of many – passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 42.
Kris was born in Santa Rosa, CA, on June 16, 1983. He graduated from Montgomery High School in 2001, and enlisted in the USAF. He served for 13 years as a pararescueman with honor, courage, and selflessness, embodying the motto, “That Others May Live.” Inspired by his mother’s nursing career and his own passion for healing, Kris transitioned from the battlefield to the bedside by becoming a physician assistant through the Interservice Physician Assistant Program. He graduated at the top of his class—an honor that surprised no one who knew his work ethic and commitment to excellence. He continued to serve others as a USAF physician assistant until his passing, offering compassionate care and calm reassurance to every patient he encountered.
But above all else, Kris’s most cherished role was that of a family man. He was a devoted husband and a hands-on, deeply loving father to his three incredible children. He showed up—every day, in every way. He led with love and laughter, always making time to support, protect, and uplift those he cared for. His friendships were deep and lasting, marked by loyalty, kindness, and the joy he brought to every relationship.
Kris lived with a rare and vibrant zest for life. He was always up for an adventure, eager to try something new, and had a contagious enthusiasm that made others want to join in the fun. He found joy in the simple and the extraordinary—fishing, cooking, traveling, discovering new music, or spending time outdoors. He made life brighter, fuller, and more fun for everyone around him.
Kris's legacy is one of service, strength, joy, and love. He leaves behind a family and community forever changed by his presence, and he will be missed beyond measure.
Kris is survived by his wife, Emily, and their children, Jack, Owen and Eleanor; his mother, Beth Darrow; his father and stepmother, Randy and Ada Darrow; his sister, Laura Dickson; as well as his extended family and friends who loved him deeply.
