Lawrence "Larry" D. Davis

July 9, 1928 — March 26, 2023

Lawrence "Larry" D. Davis of Clinton, MD died March 26th, 2023 at age 94 with family by his side.

He was born July 9th, 1928 to Lawrence D. Davis, Sr. and May G. Baker Davis in Thurmont, MD where he spent most of his youth. The family then moved to Baltimore, MD in 1943 where he graduated from Patterson Park High School in 1945, followed by employment with Western Electric where he met his first wife, Frances McElhose. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1948 serving for 20 years before retiring in 1968. He then began his next career in real estate for some 30+ years working for Mike Casey Realty and Mount Vernon Realty. During this time, he met his second wife, Peggy Brashier, and they were married in 1984 and together until her death in 2006. Not long after, he unexpectedly met the next and current love of his life, Gisela "Gigi" Rondeau Davis, they were married in 2007 and shared the next 16 years together. Larry was a friend and mentor to many, happily sharing with and helping others. He was caring, generous and giving, most often done quietly, privately and neither seeking nor expecting anything in return, just filling a need where he saw it. While he bore a quiet and unassuming demeanor on the surface, beneath it were many deep layers of love, caring and respect for God, his country for which he was very patriotic, and his family who were everything to him. All these were close to his heart.

He leaves behind his wife Gigi; his children Jean, Jim, Don (Laurel); his stepchildren Monica (Tim), Jean (Frank), Sue (Ron), John (Julie); 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings Mary, Roy, Grace and Donald.
