Lewis Franklin (Bud) Hanbury Jr. passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026. Bud was born in Alexandria, VA on April 20, 1951 to Lewis and Agnes Hanbury.
In his younger years he was an accomplished boxer and is in the Washington DC boxing hall of fame. He was an Operating engineer for I.U.O.E local 77 in Washington DC. He was a union man and became a business agent and president of his local. Bud loved boxing, stock car racing, fishing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Vicki Hanbury, his daughter Erin Voden (John), His son Ryan Hanbury (Sarah), and his two granddaughters Addison and Savannah Voden.
The family will receive friends and family at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday March 23, 2026, from 2:00p-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. A service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Tuesday March 24, 2026, at 11:00am followed by Burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 4111 Pennsylvania Ave, Silver Hill, MD 20746.
