Lizzie Damron

August 24, 1963 — August 13, 2025

Lizzie Ann Damron, lovingly known as “Liz,” passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Waldorf, Maryland, on August 13, 2025, at the age of 61.

She was born on August 24, 1963, in Chantilly, Virginia, to the late Betty and Bruce Damron. She is proceeded in death by her beloved son Danny Damron, grandson, Calvin “C.J.” Damron Jr. and her brother-in-law Mark Garner. Liz was a devoted mother to Calvin Damron, and Tiffany Damron (Quenard Johnson). She was a proud and cherished “Maw Maw” to her grandchildren: Collin, Calvin, Angelina, Dominic, and Danny Jr. She was also a beloved sister to Cora Brito, Kay Garner (Mark Garner), Tammy Sweet (David Sweet), and Thelma Kennedy (Lee Kennedy). Known as “Aunt Liz” to many nieces and nephews and “Maw Maw Liz” to her great-nieces and nephews, her family was her heart and her greatest joy.

Liz loved life’s simple treasures—spending time with her family, watching butterflies, going to the beach, collecting coins and enjoying a good cup of coffee. She especially cherished her Starbucks outings with her daughter Tiffany, where the two shared not only a favorite drink but also many special moments together. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed their presence. She also found great comfort in “Footprints in the Sand,” a reflection of her faith and her belief that she was never alone through life’s trials.

Her greatest gift was her ability to make everyone feel special. To Liz, no one was ever a stranger. She had a gift for conversation, always offering wise words, laughter, and a loving ear. Her genuine kindness and vibrant spirit left an imprint on everyone she met.

For over 15 years, Liz worked as a property manager at Laurel Lakes Senior Apartments in Laurel, Maryland. More than just a job, it was a place where she built a loving community and lasting friendships. She proudly referred to everyone there as “My Residents” and treated them like family. Her devotion to them was a true reflection of her generous heart. She truly enjoyed her daily interactions with each and every one and took pride in the annual holiday parties she threw for her residents, ensuring everyone felt welcome and included.

Liz was strong, courageous, and authentic. She loved to laugh, tell stories from her childhood, and surround herself with family. She enjoyed family gatherings and trips to the Safari with her sisters and grandchildren. Above all, her greatest and most treasured title was “Maw Maw”.

Services will be held at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, Maryland, on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with burial at Heritage Cemetery in Waldorf, Maryland. Friends and family are welcome to gather for the repast at Presbyterian Church located at 13025 Good Samaritan Dr. Waldorf, Md. 20601.

Liz will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave, the wisdom she shared, and the warmth she carried into every room. Her spirit was truly contagious and her love was unconditional. She was the definition of “One of a Kind”.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Michelle “Bobby” Garner, who shared a very special bond with Liz. More than a niece and caregiver, Bobby was a constant source of love, strength, and guidance. Their relationship was one of deep trust and mutual care, and the family will forever be grateful for the comfort and devotion she continuously gave during Liz’s journey.

"When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
