Margaret Louise McLaughlin

Margaret Louise “Peggy” McLaughlin, age 79, passed away on January 4, 2026.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Grant McLaughlin, who passed away in 2022. Following his passing, she moved from Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, to Huntingtown, Maryland, where she lived with her daughter and was surrounded by the love and care of her family.

Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters, Kari Ann McLaughlin Logan and Tracy Lynn McLaughlin Alvarez; her grandchildren, Brandi Lynn Mudd Griffith and Haley Brooke Logan; her grandson-in-law, Keith Allen Griffith; and her four great-grandchildren, Mason Allen Griffith, Olivia Wise Griffith, Harlow Jean Griffith, and Crew Grant Griffith.

During her midlife years with Gary, Peggy embraced adventure and friendship as they traveled across the country on their Goldwing motorcycle, creating countless memories and forming lifelong friendships. When they weren’t on the open highway, they enjoyed riding mud trails with family in Rural Valley, sharing laughter and adventure.

Peggy was deeply passionate about gardening. The beauty she and Gary created through their flowers, ponds, and peaceful sitting areas reflected her creativity and care and was featured in a magazine. She also cherished time with her beloved dog, Odie, and found great peace sitting on her patio overlooking the Chesapeake Bay, reading her book and enjoying the quiet beauty around her.

Peggy will be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, adventurous spirit, and deep devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
