Margaret Sylvia Neal

Margaret Sylvia Neal passed away in her home, Thursday evening, June 4, 2026, at the age of 88 years.

Margaret is survived by her sister Vetta; sons David, Jonathan, and daughter Janice, as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was born in Rappahannock County, Virginia, the second of two daughters to Nannie and Carter Brown in 1937. Margaret graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Flint Hills, Virginia; Class of 1956. She moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she would meet her future husband, Joseph A. Neal. They married August 1, 1958.

Margaret was a dedicated United States Air Force wife of 64 years and loving mother of three children; all while continuing to cultivate a number of friends and acquaintances which would be the hallmark of her life. Here hobbies included sewing, cooking, and took and keen interest in painting. A celebration will be held in her honor, on Friday June 19, 2026, 10 am at Lee Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alex Ferry Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735. A memorial service will follow at 11 am. Margaret will be joining her husband, Joseph, in interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
