Martin James Oberman

Martin James Oberman “Marty” Of Upper Marlboro, MD. Passed away on January 7, 2014 at the age of 77. He is the beloved husband of Betty Oberman; loving father of Martin (Stephanie) Oberman, Jr., Cynthia (Mark) Morgan, Maria (Todd) Melton, Kevin Oberman and the late Carolyn Oberman; devoted grandfather of 10, great grandfather of 4 and caring brother of Paul Oberman and Therese Delhomme. After his service in the United States Army, Mr. Oberman became a photo engraver for The Washington Star and later retired from The Washington Post. Friends will be received on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, P.A., 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at 9:30 am in St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church, 14908 Main Street, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772.
