Marvin Leonard Smith, Sr., of Saint Leonard, Maryland passed away on April 11,2026 at the home of his partner Toni Kimble in Sunnyvale, Texas surrounded by his family and beloved pup Scrappy. Marvin was born on June 6, 1941 in Washington, DC to Thomas Scott Smith and Rosie Gue Smith. He was raised in Clinton, Maryland.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of 59 years, Treva Margaret Kimble Smith, his parents, sisters and brothers. He is survived by his sons Marvin Leonard Smith, Jr. (Vickey) and Kenneth Scott Smith (Cheryl). Seven grandchildren Heather Harkness (Chris), Heath Harrell Deas, Justine Zube (Alli), Lisa Carlson, Kelly Woiciechowicz (Michael), Courtney Burford (Dallas), Casey Boone (Klye). Great grandchildren Cole and Chase Harkness, Eve and Ricky Harper, Juniper Zube, Kai and Max Woiciechowicz , Levi Boone, Brooks Burford. Several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Marvin had a long and prosperous career with Operating Engineers Local 77 as a heavy equipment operator. For the majority of his career, he was a pile driver working on many historical sites in Washington DC. As well as providing for his wife and sons, Marvin was a devoted Life member of Clinton VFD. During his years as a volunteer for Clinton, he served in many capacities Firefighter, Driver, Operator, Officer, Assistant Chief and Board of Director.
His loves in life were his faith, family, pets, boating, and eating steamed Maryland Blue crabs. He leaves us with indomitable spirit and faith, that because of Jesus, we will see him again.
