Maureen Ann Gill

Maureen Ann Gill (née Keane) passed away on July 2, 2026 at the age of 84. Born to Edward and Margaret Keane of County Clare, Ireland on August 25, 1941, Maureen spent her girlhood on the family dairy farm before emigrating to New York. There she met her first husband, John B. Smyth, and their marriage produced 5 children: John E (Leslie), Scott (Amy), Michelle (TJ), Renee (Paul) and Nichole (Mike). Her second husband, John H. Gill was an amazing husband and partner and they had many adventures together, crabbing and fishing the waterways of Southern Maryland, before he preceded her in death. Maureen was grandma to 10 grandchildren (Jessica, Rebecca, Mac, Sydney, Isabella, Catalina, Mare, Paul, Meghan & Michael) whom she adored. Mom was a wonderful, stubborn, funny, obstinate, sometimes difficult and always loving woman, whose loss leaves a hole in the hearts of all who loved her. A viewing will be held at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, MD on July 9th, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 pm with a private family burial at a later date.
