Renato Pietro Orcino

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Renato P. Orcino- a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He peacefully left this Earthly world on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the age of 88, surrounded by his cherished loved ones.

Renato was born on May 30, 1936, in Denice, Italy to Angela and Giuseppe Orcino. From an early age, he maintained a remarkable spirit, developed a love for food, wine, and was deeply devoted to those he held dear. He married the love of his life, Rita A. DiGirolamo, on July 19th, 1964 and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.

As a father, Renato, was a source of unwavering support and boundless love for his family. He is remembered as the foundation, a guiding light, always ready with a story to share, listening ear, wise advice, and a warm embrace. His legacy of kindness, integrity, and generosity will forever be treasured and reminisced by those who knew him.

Renato had a distinguished career as an Executive Chef, where he made significant contributions across the greater Washington Metropolitan area. His colleagues admired him for his talent, dedication, work ethic, and the respect he showed to everyone he encountered. Beyond his professional achievements, he carried over his culinary talents to his family where he nourished and supported a family, spanning several generations. 

In his spare time, Renato enjoyed tending to his bountiful gardens, often sharing his robust crops with neighbors, friends and family. His love for gardening was infectious, and he found great joy in sharing his passion with everyone. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Rita A. Orcino, of 60 years, daughters Patrizia Reynolds (Craig) and Daniela Walrath. Renato is also fondly remembered by his grandchildren Brycen Walrath, Nina Reynolds and Alex Walrath. 

To celebrate Renato’s life, a viewing will be held at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane Owings, MD 20736 on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 2 – 5pm. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at 11am at Jesus the Good Shepherd, 1601 W. Mount Harmony Road Owings, MD 20736.

Renato’s kindness, wisdom, and love have left an indelible mark on all who were blessed to know him. Despite being profoundly missed, his spirit and memories will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May you rest in eternal peace. Ti ameremo sempre!
