Richard A Cosimano

Richard Cosimano passed away peacefully at his home in Huntingtown, Maryland, on June 8, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born in Washington, D.C., on January 17, 1941, Richard spent his early years in District Heights, Maryland, where he graduated from Suitland High School in 1959. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and later built a long career with Giant Foods, where he worked for more than three decades before retiring.

Richard was a devoted father, grandfather, veteran, and friend. He valued family above all else and found great joy in watching his family grow through the generations. His kindness, loyalty, and unwavering love will be remembered by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Thelma Cosimano, and his brother, Joseph Cosimano.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Angela Powers (Robert); his son, Travis Jones; and his cherished grandchildren, Taylor Parise, Hannah Powers, Justin Powers, Kyle Jones, and Ryleigh Jones.

The family would like to thank everyone who has offered support, prayers, and condolences during this difficult time.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home in Owings, Maryland, with a service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. A private family burial will take place at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
