Robert “Bob” Bommelje
On December 26, 2022, sisters Britt Sullivan and Blake Keegan lost their father, Robert “Bob” Bommelje at his home in Dunkirk, Maryland.
Bob was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 29, 1952. After graduating from high school and spending two years in community college, he began his long career driving commercial vehicles. In all the years he worked, he never missed a day of work – not one.
Bob lived an enthusiastic and exciting fun-filled life. His greatest passion was spending time with family and friends, often times keeping them at the edge of their seats during any one of his story telling sessions. He enjoyed numerous activities including swimming, camping, boating, four wheeling, collecting Jeeps and travelling to many countries. Never one to sit still for long, Bob kept those around him jumping from one adventure to the next.
Bob leaves behind by his beloved daughters, Britt Sullivan and Blake Keegan, sons-in-law James Sullivan and John Keegan, grandchildren KK and Jack Keegan, sister Ellen Jonker, and the love of his life and her family, Debbie Bolton. He is predeceased by his mother Audrey Vogel, his father Robert Bommelje, and his sister Ruth Jones.
His tireless love and devotion to his family and friends was evident his entire life and he is already greatly missed.
Bob will be interred at the Ever Green Cemetery in Shelby, Michigan at a later date.
