Robert Parker Jr was born on July 9, 1952 in Washington, DC to Robert Parker Sr. and Romona (Gardner) Parker.
He was educated in DC public schools, graduating from Paul Lawrence Dunbar Senior High School in 1970.
Robert started his career at the Census Bureau in Suitland, MD and worked various positions in the food and delivery service industries prior to retiring from Murrays, Inc in 2017.
Robert was a devoted football fan, with a lifelong passion for the Washington Commanders (Redskins). He followed the team with enthusiasm and loyalty through every game and every season. Robert's passion for his team was always on display, as he owned team hats, jackets, shirts, pants, shoes, and even underwear. He also enjoyed collecting team memorabilia and over the years amassed a large collection of items.
In addition to collecting sports memorabilia, Robert enjoyed collecting gadgets and electronics, cooking, and shopping. Robert would often cook for his family, friends and neighbors, and always ensured his grandsons were prepared every school year with new backpacks and winter coats.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Parker Sr. and Romona (Gardner) Parker; and brother, Ricky Parker. He leaves to mourn his children: Roxanne Sowell (Wilbert), Robert Parker, and Maria Parker; grandsons: Robert (RJ) Parker, and Miles Parker; and sister, Linda Parker.
Robert also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
