Robert Douglas Weems

Robert 'Bobby' Douglas Weems was born on December 6, 1926, to Philip and Mattie Yoe Weems of Port Republic, Maryland. He was preceded in death by his brother Gardner Weems, his sister Rebecca Weems Angelella, his wife Betty Lee (Prout) Weems, his son Gordon Douglas Weems, and his granddaughter Katherine Curran (Rossow) Martin. He is survived by his brother Mason Gourly Weems; his son John Philip Weems; his daughters-in-law Pamela Grear Weems (JP) and Eileen Curran Weems (Douglas); his grandchildren Joshua Weems, Jenni Weems & Robert Richardson, Mattie Weems Stott & Tyler Stott, and Megan Weems & Matthew Fleck; and his six great-grandchildren Johnny, Mayers, Bobby, Grear, Locke, and Douglas.

Bobby was the owner of Town & Country Liquors, which he built in 1950. He was known for being open 365 days of the year, come rain, snow, or pandemic.

Bobby will be remembered by his family for the ever-present dog at his heels, the mischief in his eyes, and the unending generosity of his heart.

Mr. Weems, Robert, Bobby, Pop, PopPop--by all his names he is loved and missed.

The burial will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations please be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake in his memory.
