It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Lee Woods (Bob), a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Born on February 17, 1931, in McKinney, Texas, Bob departed this life peacefully on December 3, 2025, at the age of 94. He lived a life rich in experiences, wisdom, and touched the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
Bob was a proud veteran of the army and returned to civilian life when he wed Peggy Rawlings, the love of his life. He then pursued a higher education culminating in a law degree which laid the foundation for an esteemed career as an attorney with the Federal Government. Throughout his professional journey, he treated every individual with respect and never wavered in his commitment to approach every situation with honesty and integrity.
Those who knew Bob fondly remember his passion for history and his love of travel. The Rocky Mountains held a special place in his heart. Memories of fishing trips with his sons and RV trips with his mom, dad, brothers, and family became the fodder for stories that he recounted with joy and laughter.
Bob’s zest for life and adventure was matched only by his devotion to his family, his joy reflected in the faces of his grandchildren Angie, Crystal, Nash, Alexa, Faith, Jessica, Clay, and Stuart and his great grandchildren Isabella, Dominick, Sadie, and Kennedy.
Bob is survived by his children William (Dianne), Mark (Elizabeth), and Tom (Kathy). Bob was preceded in death by his wife Peggy, his parents Kali and Ruby, and his twin brothers Jim and Jack.
As we gather to celebrate his life and honor his memory, visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Homes P.A Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings MD 20736, On friday December 19, 2025 from 4:00pm- 7:00pm. A funeral services will be held on December 20, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lee Funeral Homes P.A Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings MD 20736, followed burial at 14300 Saint Thomas Church Road, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772, St.Thomas Parish Cemetery. We invite all who knew and loved Bob to join us in reflecting on the beauty of his life, sharing stories, and ensuring that his legacy of love and kindness endures.
