Rodney Carter

April 2, 1949 — October 26, 2025

Rodney Jack Carter, 76, of Brandywine, MD, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 2, 1949, in Parsons, Kansas, Rodney was the beloved son of the late Jack Delbert and O'Reta Elizabeth Carter.

Rodney dedicated his life to service and integrity. He earned his associate degree from Prince George's Community College while serving as a Corrections Officer at the D.C. Jail, where he worked with dedication and compassion for many years. His colleagues remember him for his calm presence, steady leadership, and genuine care for those around him.

Rodney's heart, however, belonged to his family. He shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Dolores "Loli" Carter, whose love and partnership were the foundation of his life. He was a proud father to Anthony Scott (Julia Katherine) Carter, and a doting grandfather to Henry Jay Carter and Harland Xavier Carter, who brought endless joy to his later years. Rodney is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Steven Michael (Shelly Marie) Carter Sr. and Danette LuAnn Carter, along with many extended family members and friends who were touched by his warmth, humor, and kindness.

Rodney had a quiet strength and a generous spirit. He enjoyed simple pleasures-sharing stories with family and taking time to appreciate the small moments that make life meaningful. His laughter, wisdom, and steadfast love will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
