“Sandra Lee Todd (“Sandy”), 77, of Owings, Maryland, passed away on December 15, 2025 surrounded by her loving family in her home.
Sandra was born in Washington, D.C. in 1948 to James Roy Young and Emma Pauline (McCormick) Young. She enjoyed her childhood spending time on the Young family farm with her 5 brothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In 1966, Sandra began her civil service career at the Naval Oceanographic Office in Suitland, Maryland. Over the course of 29 years, she rose through the ranks and ultimately retired as a Financial Manager with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
In 1995, Sandra retired early to devote herself fully to what mattered most-family. She selflessly dedicated her life to caring for and helping raise her grandchildren, lovingly supporting two generations of grandchildren as they came along. Her unwavering love, patience, and generosity shaped their lives in immeasurable ways.
Throughout her life, Sandra was defined by her deep devotion to family. She found joy in gardening, cherished attending the grand kid’s sporting events and milestones, and loved capturing special moments through photographs that will be treasured for generations.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Wilton Todd Sr. (“Pete”); her daughter Christine Munley (Daniel), and her step-children Timothy Todd (Reita), Wilton Todd Jr., and Terri Long (Tim); her grandchildren, Brittany (Greg), Victoria (Riley), Tommy, Rachel, Joey, Ryan, Austin, Alyssa, Ethan, Ella, Lisette (James), Morgan (Chris), and Beth; and her great-grandchildren, Aubree, Mia, Sophie, Ty, Luke, and Jax.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, James and Emma Young; her brothers, Jimmy Young and Robby Young; and her nephews, Buster Young and Brad Young.
She is also survived by her brothers, Chuck Young (Gail), Donnie Young (Sharon), and Richie Young; and her sisters-in-laws Robin Young and Jenny Young.
Sandra’s legacy is one of love, selflessness, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.”
