Sharon P. Miller, 79, born on March 2, 1947, in Prince Frederick, Maryland, passed, away peacefully after a courageous three-year battle with breast cancer.
Born to the late Lionel and Julia Parks, Sharon was raised in the close-knit community of Broomes Island, Maryland, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for family, friends, and the simple joys of life. She was a 1965 graduate of Calvert High School.
Before retiring, Sharon spent many years as a teacher’s aide with Prince George’s County Public Schools, where she enjoyed working with children and took pride in supporting their learning and growth.
Sharon had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. Over the years, she cared for many cherished companions, and her most recent rescue, Lincoln, was a constant source of comfort and companionship during the past three years.
Family was central to Sharon’s life. She treasured time with her loved ones and truly enjoyed traveling with her sister, Shirley. Whether cruising throughout the Caribbean or spending a couple of weeks in Cancún during the summers, she enjoyed every moment they shared together, creating lasting memories with Shirley and dear friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Lionel and Julia Parks, and her siblings, Shirley Quintero, Jean Pitcher, and Calvin Parks.
She is survived by her nieces, Patrice Silvestri (Dan) of Summerville, South Carolina, and Lynne Mulligan (Mike) of Dunkirk, Maryland, as well as five great-nieces, two great- great-nieces, and five great-great-nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Sharon will be remembered for her compassion, devotion to family, love of animals, and the kindness she extended to others. Her strength, grace, and generous spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lee Funeral Home (8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736) with a service immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation https://www.komen.org or the SPCA of Anne Arundel County https://aacspca.org/ways-to-give-individuals/ in Sharon’s memory, honoring her courageous fight against breast cancer and lifelong love of animals.
