Teresa L. Bigbee

Jan 29, 1953 — Oct 7, 2026

Teresa Louine Bigbee, 73, of Clinton, Maryland, quietly entered the spirit world on October 7, 2026, at home, surrounded by her daughter, Erin, and her husband, Gary.

Teresa was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer in 2019. She underwent multiple hormone therapies, and one round of Chemotherapy. When her body couldn’t handle them anymore, she decided to enter home hospice care at the end of May 2026.

Teresa was born on January 29, 1953, in Washington DC. She settled in Clinton, Maryland after living in several homes around the area with her parents. She graduated from Gwynn Park High School, and later attended University of Maryland, in the hopes of becoming a veterinarian. Ultimately, her career path took an unexpected turn, and she became a Computer Programmer for the Department of Treasury (IRS) for many years. Teresa married Gary Harris on December 20, 1985, in Upper Marlboro, MD, then on February 25, 1987 (the best day of her life), she gave birth to Erin.

Teresa had a soft spot in her heart for all animals, but her favorite was horses. At the age of eight, her father, Daniel, took her to a nearby farm while they were visiting family in Missouri, to pick up her first pony, Toby. From then on, her love for horses grew. As time went on, she purchased a stallion named, Phantom. She took him to well-known horse shows and competed in Dressage and Western. She acquired many other horses along the way, competed in barrel racing with some, and developed an at home Appaloosa breeding program.

Horses weren’t Teresa’s only passion. She also enjoyed going on many Disney vacations. You could easily find Teresa, Gary, and Erin at Walt Disney World. They were often joined by their family friends, the Rieggers. Over the years, Teresa, Gary, and Erin traveled on 3 Disney Caribbean cruises. Some of the best family memories were made on those vacations.

Later in life, Teresa started the hobby of acrylic painting. She painted many horses, birds, and special projects for her daughter and grandchildren.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Gary Harris, daughter, Erin Kreiner, granddaughter, Ellie Kreiner, grandson, Fynn Kreiner, son-in-law, Thomas Kreiner III, and best friends/sisters Kathleen O’Malley and Anne Moroz.

Teresa is pre-deceased by her biological mother, Virginia Simpson, adopted father, Daniel Bigbee, adopted mother, Nadine Bigbee, and half-brother from Virginia’s side, Harry Melanson.

Teresa was a very loving Mother, Grandmother, and Wife. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her.
