With deep love and sorrow, the family of Thelma Louise Gobantes announces her peaceful passing on May 1, 2025, at the age of 80.
Thelma was born on November 20, 1944, in Bacnotan, Philippines, to Pedro Orijudos and Margarita Pagaduan Orijudos. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother whose warmth, intelligence, and strength touched all who knew her.
A woman of remarkable intellect and determination, Thelma earned bachelor’s degrees in both Chemistry and Accounting. She devoted her professional life to excellence and service, working for 25 years as an accountant at Ernst and Young, and later serving for 12 years as a Senior Accountant at United Cerebral Palsy—where her compassion and integrity left a lasting impact.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Rodrigo Emarlino Gobantes Sr., and her cherished son, Dennis O. Gobantes (wife Thelma Wash-Gobantes). Thelma also leaves behind three treasured grandchildren: Isaiah Gobantes, and Matthew and Laila Gobantes, who brought her endless joy and pride.
Thelma was preceded in death by her dear siblings: Editha Garma, Henry Orijudos, Angelita Espinueva, and Teresita Tbafunda. Their memories, along with hers, will continue to be held close by all who loved them.
Thelma will be remembered for her unwavering love for family, her deep faith, her gracious spirit, and her legacy of kindness and hard work. Her life was an inspiration, and her memory will be a blessing to all who knew her.
