Victor Lee Hensley, Sr.

Victor Lee Hensley, Sr. (Vic) died suddenly but peacefully on Friday, March 31, 2023 in Myersville, MD, at
the age of 71.

Victor is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine, his sister, Debbie Farber, his children, Gwendolyn
Meyer (husband Jonathan), Victor Hensley, Jr. (fiancé Cindy Ford), Christina Hensley, and Geoffrey
Hensley. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Rachel, Bethany, Joel, Jeremiah, Hannah, and
Josiah Meyer. He is preceded in death by his father Owen Hensley, his mother Margie Mundy, and his
brother, Lynn Hensley.

Victor was born November 16, 1951 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA. His family
moved to the DC area in 1953 where he spent is growing up days, graduating from Suitland High in
1972. However, he never lost his affinity for the Shenandoah Valley and extended family there. He
married his High School sweetheart on January 27, 1973. He became a daddy in 1974. He worked for
American Metal Fabricators for 35 years moving from draftsman to the advent of the CAD. He moved to
Chesapeake Beach in 1978. He started attending Capitol Baptist Church and served as deacon, taught
Sunday School, and sang in the church choir. His children attended Capitol Christian Academy where he
also served on the school board. He highly valued the importance of education. He later attended
Dunkirk Baptist Church where he served as deacon and sang in the choir. His faith was very important to
him. He was a jack of many trades outside work and church. He was loved by many.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 10 AM at Dunkirk Baptist Church in Dunkirk, MD with
funeral services following at 11 AM. A private interment will be at Southern Memorial Gardens in
Dunkirk, MD.
