Wade Waylnn Garrett, 97, of Ft. Washington, MD left to be with his Savior on December 27, 2022.

He was born on November 26, 1925, to Albert T. Garrett, and Hattie L. Pope in Temple, Texas.

Wade was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII and the Korean War. After serving his country, he had a career in the Newspaper Industry as a Mailer.

In 1951 Wade met his wife Gloria at a roller-skating rink in Washington DC. They enjoyed 71 years of marriage.

He loved camping, gardening, square dancing, reading, doing volunteer work, and spending time with his family and friends. For over 50 years he was a member of Clinton United Methodist Church.

Wade is survived by his wife, Gloria A. Garrett, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Bunny Garrett, daughter and son-in-law Jean and John Hevey, three grandchildren: David Hevey, Lisa Garrett, Julie Snyder and their spouses. There are eight great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at Lee Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Rd. Clinton MD 20735 on Thursday, January 5th at 10 AM followed by a celebration of life service at 11 AM. The service will be officiated by his pastor, Dorotha Stroman. Interment will be at Washington National Cemetery.
