Wesley Wycliff Sawyer III

On Sunday January 2026, we lost Wesley Wycliff Sawyer III. Wesley was born June 1946, in Salina Kansas.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Wesley Wycliff Jr and Wilma Jean Sawyer, his brother Stanley Curtis Sawyer and his nephew Anothny Edward Drake.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Sawyer and her children Tammy and Warren. His sisters Martha Webster (Gary) and Mary Drake (Art). Brother Neal Sawyer (Jessica), nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.

He served in the Air Force from 1968 through 1972 (including tours of duty in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970). He retired from the federal government after many years including several years as a federal fire fighter/inspector.

He was an avid reader, history buff and loved his family and his country. He would regularly greet you with a big smile and always had a story to tell. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his honor to the, ASPCA | American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, ASPCA.org, a cause very deep to his heart.

A private interment will be held at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery honoring Wesley Wycliff Sawyer III's service and dedication.
